TEMPS ZERO
Noorderlicht studio is gesloten tot 1 juni 2020. We volgen hiermee de richtlijnen van het RIVM omtrent het Coronavirus.
Dit betekent dat helaas de tentoonstelling van TEMPS ZERO niet meer voor publiek toegankelijk is.
We werken aan een mogelijkheid om de tentoonstelling online te presenteren.

Het internationale collectief TEMPS ZERO brengt – onder leiding van fotograaf en curator Stéphane Charpentier en geluidskunstenaar Alyssa Moxley – sinds 2012 een nieuwe generatie internationale experimentele visuele en geluidskunstenaars bij elkaar. De groep trekt in steeds wisselende samenstellingen langs Europese steden, met poëtische tentoonstellingen, geïmproviseerde concerten en workshop-presentaties.
Dit collectief gedragen kunstproject is als een hechte familie van buitenstaanders, op zoek naar hun plek in een weerbarstige wereld. De deelnemers vinden elkaar in hun existentiële drang naar vrijheid en de intens creatieve impulsen die daaruit voortkomen. Samen smelten zij fotografie, video, geluidskunst en muziek samen tot indringende zintuiglijke ervaringen.
Van 16 januari tot 12 april 2020 strijkt TEMPS ZERO in Groningen neer en presenteert een interactieve installatie in de Noorderlicht studio. In de zalen worden beelden gecombineerd met multitrack-geluid dat via sensoren reageert op de bewegingen van bezoekers. In een filmruimte wordt een doorlopende projectie vertoond, op een speciaal gecomponeerde score.
TEMPS ZERO presenteert daarnaast werk van de Groninger fotografen Baukje Venema en Sebastiaan Rodenhuis en een documentaire van Pierre Montagnez, met interviews en backstage geschoten materiaal tijdens het laatste Temps Zero-project in Boekarest.

Since 2012, the international collective TEMPS ZERO – led by photographer and curator Stéphane Charpentier and sound artist Alyssa Moxley – has been bringing together a new generation of international experimental visual and sound artists. The group travels across European cities in ever-changing line-ups, with poetic exhibitions, projections and improvised concerts, and workshop presentations.
This collectively supported art project is like a close-knit family of outsiders, looking for their place in an unruly world. The participants find each other in their existential drive for freedom and the intensely creative impulses that result from it. Together they fuse photography, video, sound art and music into penetrating sensory experiences.
From January 16 to April 12, 2020, TEMPS ZERO settles in Groningen and presents an interactive installation in the Noorderlicht studio. In the exhibition space, images are combined with multi-track sound that responds via sensors to the movements of visitors. A continuous projection is shown in a film room with a specially composed score.
TEMPS ZERO is also presenting works by Baukje Venema and Sebastiaan Rodenhuis – two photographers from Groningen – as well as a documentary film by Pierre Montagnez with artists interviews and backstage footage from the recent projects in Bucharest.
