Food Sync

In ‘Food Sync’, Ole Witt shows the work and products of companies and start-ups exploring solutions to improve the food industry. To do this, they make use of modern technology, new manufacturing techniques and innovative products.

The exhibited images feature examples of what is known as ‘food tech’: an industry focused on developing and producing plant-based food. It is one of the solutions proposed in the discussion around changing our current food system. If this system does not radically change in the coming years, global food supply will run out and sustainable food production for the world’s growing population will no longer be feasible. Other solutions put forward include less food waste and more efficient food production.

The close-up images in this exhibition seem like visions from another world, making us think about how nature, with the help of human and technological intervention, can continue to feed us in a way that is healthy for both people and planet. They give us a sense of stepping into a science-fiction world. Yet, these products are already part of our daily lives, and they are likely to become even more so in the near future.
