Young Curators - Splintered Thoughts and Fragile Plots
For the third edition of the Young Curators mentor programme, we once again invited two upcoming curators to develop a multidisciplinary exhibition in the Noorderlicht Studio around the theme of the main festival: the Estonian curator and writer Tiiu Meiner (1995) and the Lebanese curator and designer Rawad Baaklini (1994).
In their exhibition the question of ‘true or false’ has little grip. The focus is rather on the things that we know through memories, experiences, personal wisdoms, and intuitions. In a world where we anticipate certainty, implicit knowledge is an especially vulnerable form of information. The eleven artists, designers and performers in ‘Splintered Thoughts and Fragile Plots’ reveal just how easy it is to manipulate what we believe in and make us wonder how and when exactly we decide to go along with a story.
