Confronting Views - Paolo Pellegrin

Elite Commandos by Paolo Pellegrin Behind enemy lines with a platoon of elite Israeli commandos, in a war they believe they must fight but know they can't win.

Paolo Pellgrin documents the “impossible mission” of Israeli soldiers, spring 2002, in the West Bank village Atil. They are members of one of the most celebrated – and feared – combat unit of the Israeli Army: the PalsarTzanhanim, paratrooper reconnaissance commandos. The Palsars serve as a special vanguard during times of war, conducting sabotage, ambushes and intelligence-gathering deep inside the enemy territory. though they are among the Israeli Army’s elite, these Palsars are not career soldiers; they are reservists. In Atil they chase Palestine militia commanders, creating fear and tension among civilians.
