Noorderlicht Studio and bookshop open again!

19 Jan 2021

Noorderlicht Studio will be open again from Thursday 20 January! According to the current corona guidelines for non-essential shops, we can open our bookstore again. We are taking the opportunity to set up the traditional Noorderlicht Christmas book market after all. That means three photo books for a bargain. And while you're inside, you can enjoy Sarah Carlier’s exhibition ‘Muddy Pink Dinosaur’.

The last thirty-something years, Noorderlicht has published an impressive series of books and catalogs. A nice selection of these can be bought in our bookshop. You only pay a tenner for three books of your choice. The beautiful exhibition ‘Muddy Pink Dinosaur’ by the Flemish artist Sarah Carlier can be seen around the book market. In her photos and video installations – partly the result of her residence at Noorderlicht in the spring of 2021 – the Flemish artist investigates what makes something art and what it means to society. She shows new works and creations of 22 local artists. In our shop you can also buy a beautiful print in small edition of Sarah’s work (see below). Read here more about ‘Muddy Pink Dinosaur’. The exhibition has been extended until Sunday March 13.

Noorderlicht director Kees van der Meiden: “With this campaign and the reopening of the inspiring exhibition ‘Muddy Pink Dinosaur’, we support the upcoming campaigns of our colleagues from the museums, who are rightfully out of patience. There is no longer any reason to keep these treasure troves closed to the public. Hopefully the new government will realize this.”
