Pushpamala N

The work of visual artist Pushpamala N. (b. 1956) is inspired by old films, photographs, paintings and newpapers, illuminates the position of women in India in a humorous way. Pushpamala started off her career as a sculptor began using photography and video in the mid -1990s, creating tableaux and photo-romances in which she casts herself in various roles.
