About Laura Boushnak
Laura Boushnak is a Palestinian documentary photographer and visual storyteller. Her work focuses primarily on the Arab world, looking at issues she believes stem from her own personal experience with gender, education and the aftermath of war.
After earning a degree in sociology from the Lebanese University in Beirut in 1999, Boushnak combined her interest in social issues with her passion for the visual arts and began her career as a photographer for the Associated Press in Lebanon.
For nine years Boushnak covered hard news in conflict zones such as the war in Iraq and the war between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006. Christophe Bourguedieu is a lecturer and coordinator of the Photo/Video sector at the École des Arts Déco.
