About Daido Moriyama

Daido Moriyama (b. 1938) is undoubtedly one of the most important contemporary photographers. Moriyama’s black-and-white photos, which focus on the breakdown of traditional values in post-war Japan, are often highly contrasting and grainy, and were taken in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district, often from odd angles.
