In Pictura, Noorderlicht brings together works by artists who all tell a journey of transformation and renewal on a personal level. The stories are testimonies of resilience and tenacity in a quest for healing, freedom, justice, self-determination and fulfillment.

REGENERATE OURSELVES denotes the process of renewing, healing, restoring and developing ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally. When we talk about regenerating our bodies, it can refer to restoring our physical health after illness or fatigue, for example. At the mental level, it can mean taking time to reflect and restore our inner well-being after periods off emotional strain. Regenerate in this context also refers to the process of personal growth and development, where we strive to become a better version of ourselves. The projects together show a world where everyone can celebrate and cherish their own identity, ambitions and development.

This exhibition invites us to reflect on man’s boundless capacity to renew, grow and evolve. REGENERATE OURSELVES can be seen as a tribute to those who resist and strive for a better future for themselves and thereby for others. After all, without self-regeneration, there is no regeneration.
