Transhumanism (abbreviated as H+) is an international intellectual movement that seeks to improve human intellect and physiology by developing advanced technologies and making them widely available.

’H+’ by Matthieu Gafsou reveals the presence of transhumanist ideas in our lives. The project talks about our bodies, our daily lives and our relationship to technology, and opens up perspectives for the future. It offers no answers, but the images help us to reflect on an important issue of our time, forming a poetic space that confronts us with the absurdity of our finitude.

Throughout Europe, Gafsou has tracked down people – from biohackers working in garages to employees of large laboratories – as well as objects and concepts related to this movement. The sum of these fragments weaves a network of meaning in this project. In this context, Gafsou bears witness to the latent violence that accompanies the technological transformations underway.
