Almost Invisible
Jonas Yip prompted an AI image generator with his own name and the titles of his photo projects, curious to see if the outcome would resemble his work. It did not. Instead, he received strange, static, and contextless Asian figures. Was this the result of an overzealous AI, laden with hidden biases?
Yip began to interrupt the AI’s thought process. The new images were vague and incomplete, yet somehow improved. Though anonymous, the figures were distinctly recognisable as Asian. This resonated with Yip like an echo of the Asian experience in Western society.
