The Noorderlicht International Photo Festival presents the result of the second Open Student Call on the grounds of the old Sugar Factory in Groningen, after the great success of the 2020 edition in Heerenveen.

We asked lens-based media students worldwide to respond in one image to the theme of ‘The Makeable Mind’, which explores the relationship between visual culture and our perception of reality. What still feels like ‘reality’ to you, we asked the students. We received no fewer than 145 submissions from 41 countries. Behind the old sugar factory, near the flow fields on the Terra site, we present the beautiful results on seven towers. Free access.
