Made by Sleeping
‘Made by Sleeping’ is an investigation in word and image into the differences and similarities between the ‘appartment in the city’ and the ‘house in the countryside’, partially by actually going through these changes. The dualistic attitude towards the city of countryfolk, the citydweller being homesick for a horizon: the gap is seldom bridged, even though both parties are more easily accessible then ever.
The movers choose the packing material and wrap memory in memory. They fill and arrange the boxes, load the truck and start the engine. The unpacking is left to the viewer.
