Truppe Fledermaus (2012-2013)
Kahn & Selesnick's most recent project is about a fictional cabaret group, Truppe Fledermaus, which is inspired by medieval carnival traditions.
In it, the masses ridiculed the authorities with humor and satire and denounced the socio-political conditions. Truppe Fledermaus travels through deserted landscapes, while giving absurd and inscrutable performances. Like the commemoration of an odd-shaped cloud as the troop documents its attempts to escape the rising waters of a warming planet, or black humor commentary on the extinction of bats and other animals. In this way the troop travels on, performs for no one and advertises performances that never take place.
