The Total Landscapes series originated from the question: can a landscape be observed in its entirety?
Wouter van Buuren’s images are made up of more than a hundred photos taken from high-voltage pylons. The individual photos are unchanged and can be distinguished from the larger image. As such, the entire landscape can be perceived as the sum total of a large number of smaller landscapes.
