Are you an art enthusiast who enjoys connecting with people? Would you like to be part of the exhibition Thinking Hands (12 September – 1 November) at THEA at Niemeyer, Groningen? Then this volunteer opportunity at Noorderlicht could be perfect for you!
About the role
As a front desk volunteer, you will be the first point of contact for visitors to the Thinking Hands exhibition. You will welcome guests, scan tickets, manage our small exhibition shop, and provide visitors with information about the exhibition. It's a role that places you at the heart of the worlds of photography, technology, and art.
What will you do?
- Welcome visitors
- Sell and scan tickets
- Manage our small exhibition shop
- Provide visitors with information about the exhibition and programme
- Assist visitors with completing surveys when needed
- Optional: give guided tours for adult visitors
- Optional: help during the opening
What are we looking for?
- Strong communication skills (our visitors mainly speak Dutch, English, and German)
- A friendly and professional attitude
- The ability to multitask and stay calm during busy periods
- Availability for at least three hours per week during the exhibition period

- The maximum volunteer allowance (€5.75 per hour) in accordance with the 2026 guidelines
