23 Jun 2022

On 28 June at noon, ticket sales for the Groninger Museum Night, edition 2022, will begin. On Saturday 10 September, between 19.00 and 01.00 hours, no fewer than seven locations can be visited: the Groninger Museum, GRID Graphic Museum, Storyworld and the exhibition rooms in Forum Groningen, Museum aan de A (the successor to the Noordelijk Scheepvaartmuseum), the University Museum, Noorderlicht with an exhibition in the Akerk, and the Synagoge. The first programme components full of art, music and performances are known. Passe-partouts are for sale via groningermuseum.nl/tickets

Programme Groninger Museumnight
In collaboration with Bitterzoet Erfgoed, Forum Groningen presents the panel discussion ‘Black in Comics’. A discussion about stereotyping in comics, animations and children’s books. And besides Storyworld, where the new exhibition ’70 years of Donald Duck’ can be seen, the large exhibition halls in the Forum are also open. There you can enjoy the exhibition The Art of DC.

In the framework of the same event, GRID Grafisch Museum organises the exhibition ‘UNDER_DRUK’. The multicultural band Bokomo Swing will provide the musical background.

In Museum aan de A, you will not only get to know Groningers who played a role in slavery, the evening is also filled with music, dance and creative workshops.

In addition to the colourful exterior of the Groninger Museum, the interior is also all about colour in the new ‘Colour! Take part in the workshop on making colour pigments, experience food with colour as its theme with food designer Marije Vogelzang, and enjoy the music of Sophie Straat and Batatuké.

At the University Museum, dive into the magical world of Alice in Wonderland. Learn all about time, discover in various experiments how you experience time and take part in real scientific research.

This year Noorderlicht, in cooperation with Stichting Oude Groninger Kerken, is presenting an impressive exhibition in the Akerk on Ukrainian photography from the 1970s to the present.

Cultural understanding
In a short time Museum Night has become a household word in cultural Groningen. It attracts a young public: the average age is between 20 and 35. Many (foreign) students also come to enjoy this evening full of art, culture and conviviality. The Groninger Museum Night is a joint initiative of the Groninger Museum, Museum aan de A, GRID Graphic Museum, Forum Groningen, University Museum, Noorderlicht and the Synagogue.

Collaborations: USVA, Stukafest, Bitterzoet Erfgoed, Stichting Oude Groninger Kerken and Noorderpoort. For more information, go to groningermuseumnacht.nl
