Wanuri Kahiu

Wanuri Kahiu (b, 1981) gained her Bachelor’s degree in Management Sciences at the University of Warwick in Coventry, England, and her Master’s degree in Directing at the School of Film and Television at the University of California in Los Angeles. She is the co-founder of AFROBUBBLEGUM, a media company that supports, creates and carries out African art in commission. Kahiu’s debut film From a Whisper from 2008 was awarded various prizes, including the Africa Movie Academy Award for best director and best film.
