About Shunkichi Kikuchi
After his studies at the Oriental School of Photography Shunkichi Kikuchi (1916-1990) began a career as a press photographer. As a staff photographer for the magazine Fronthe travelled to China, Manchuria and The Philippines during World War II. After the war he became interested in scientific photography. He died of leukaemia, which some believe to have been a consequence of his work in Hiroshima.
