About Sayam Ghosh
Sayam Ghosh makes use of a variety of media – photography, text, and computer graphics – to examine the traces of long-term history on the organization of landscape and social life. He is interested in exploring themes that are often confined to the sphere of academic interest, ranging from forest ecology, landscape studies to environmental humanities. He was born (1984) and brought up in Kolkata and moved to Warsaw in 2012. His photographic work is focused on his adopted home – Warsaw and its vicinity. Sayam is fascinated by the entanglement of photography and ecological thinking, and his photographic practice is informed as much by the history of documentary photography as it is by the use of images in ecological literature.
