Rita Ostrovska

Rita Ostrovska (1953, Kyiv, Ukraine) has been working since the early 1980s as a photographer and photo lab technician, teacher of photography for children and youth, and as an artist as well. Graduated from the Film Engineers Institute. The only female member of the creative association “Poglyad”, Kyiv. In 1994 received the Albert Renger-Patzsch Prize for her book project in Germany, Essen. The book “Jews in Ukraine,1989-1994 Shtetls” was published in 1996. In 2001 emigrated with the family from Ukraine to Kassel, Germany. She studied Visual communication and ceramic at the Art Academy, Kassel.
