Reinier Gerritsen

Reinier Gerritsen (Netherlands, 1950) made his name as a street photographer with his series The Europeans, for which he photographed a busy pedestrian crossing in each European capital city: group portraits which together made up a portrait of Europe. His book Wall Street Stopsketches a picture of the New York subway – and shortly he will be ‘going underground’ in Shanghai, too. Gerritsen lives and works in Amsterdam.
