Nina Berman

The documentary photographer Nina Berman (b. 1960) focuses primarily on the American political and social landscape. Her work has received recognition from the New York Foundation for the Arts, the Open Society Institute Documentary Fund and World Press Photo. She has published two books, Purple Hearts – Back from Iraq (2004) and Homeland (2008). Nina Berman is Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University in New York.
