About Kelvin Haizel
Kelvin Haizel (1987) obtained his Master of Fine Arts in painting and sculpture from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi (Ghana). His installation ‘Things and Nothings’ was shown during ‘Afrotopia’ in 2017, the eleventh edition of Rencontres de Bamako, Biennale Africaine de la Photographie in Mali. That same year he was guest curator of the first edition of the Lagos Biennale (Nigeria). Haizel won the Vontobel Contemporary Photography Prize ‘A New Gaze 2’ in 2018, and has exhibited extensively in Africa and Europe, including recently at the Stellenbosch Triennial 2020 in South Africa. He is a member of two collectives: blaxTARLINES and Exit Frame.
