Katharina Hesse

Katharina Hesse (Germany, 1966) studied Sinology and Japanology at the Institut National des Langues et Civilizations Orientales in Paris and is one of the few accredited foreign photographers in China. She began her career with German television and was a freelancer for Newsweekbetween 1996 and 2002. Her photos have been published in Der Spiegel, Die Zeitand TheWall Street Journal, among other places. Hesse’s work on sex tourism in Thailand was previously to be seen in the Noorderlicht Photogallery.
