About Jan Grarup

For eighteen years Jan Grarup (Denmark, 1968) has been reporting from a number of the world’s most notable hotbeds. His images from Rwanda and Darfur exposed the atrocities of their ethnic conflicts, while his series The Boys from Ramallah and The Boys from Hebron examined the two sides of the recent Intifada. Among the awards Grarup has received are those from World Press Photo, UNICEF and the Eugene Smith Foundation for Humanistic Photography. His much lauded book Shadowland(2006) sketches a picture of conflicts around the world in eleven essays. The Dalai Lama provided the foreword for the book.
