About James Nakagawa and Michael Hamburger
Osamu James Nakagawa (United States, 1962) gained a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and a Master’s degree in Photography, both at the University of Houston. Nakagawa is the director of the Center for Integrative Photographic Studies at the Indiana University in Bloomington. In 2010, he won the Japanese Higashikawa Prize in the category New Photographer. Michael Wile Hamburger (United States, 1953) gained his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Russian Language and Culture at Wesleyan University in Middletown. He gained his Master’s degree in Geology and Seismology at the Indiana University, where he also obtained a PhD in Seismology. Since 2002, he has been a university lecturer at the Geology Department at the Indiana University in Bloomington.
