About Fred Brommet
Fred Brommet (1924-2008) started his education in 1942 at the New Art School in Amsterdam with Alexander Bodon. He then chose to study interior design at the Institute for Applied Arts Education of Mart Stam in Amsterdam. He moved to Paris after the Second World War, where he learned the photography trade and set up a studio. He became known for his photographs of both everyday and chic life in Paris in the 1950s and 1960s. He also specialized in ballet and fashion photography and later in advertising photography for well-known fashion houses such as Dior.
