Cynthia MaiWa Sitei

Cynthia MaiWa Sitei (1992) is a Kenyan-British documentary photographer and curator. Stories played a major role in her upbringing; as a form of entertainment during and after dinner and as a reliable means of communication to bring people together and create spaces where everyone was equal, regardless of age, wealth and health. She believes conversations and collaborations allow discourse to take on nuance and new perspectives. Her work integrates photography and text and explores themes of stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination.
