About Benoit Aquin
A photojournalist and landscape photographer, Benoit Aquin (Canada, 1963) studied at the New England School of Photography in the mid-1980s. He specialises in projects with ecological and social dimensions. For instance, he photographed the Chinese Dust Bowl and the consequences of climate change in polar regions. Among his other awards, Aquin has twice won the Grand Prix in the Lux competition. In 2008 he won the Prix Pictet, a new photo prize geared to sustainability. He also received a distinction for his work on the aftermath of the tsunami in 2004.
