Alejandro Cartagena

Alejandro Cartagena (Dominican Republic, 1977) took his Masters in Visual Arts at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon. In his documentary photography he employs portraits and landscapes to explore social, metropolitan and environmental issues. In 2009 he won the Critical Mass Book Award and Photo District Newslabelled him one of the thirty most important up-and-coming photographers.
