Sorry I Gave Birth I Disappeared But Now I’m Back

Between 2016 and 2022 Andi Gáldi Vinkó photographed her own life as a mother of two: the mess, the exhaustion and the unpredictability she did not find in existing, mostly male-made images of motherhood. She mixes staged and documentary photographs into sequences and asks questions rarely spoken aloud: how can something so universal be so lonely, and what happens to the body, sleep, desire and a career? The work stays deliberately unfinished.
