Rauw Vermogen
Open by appointment
Seven emerging photographers from the North in the spotlight
Rauw Vermogen looks at Groningen today and in the future. Seven emerging photographers from the North use fresh and optimistic images to show the work, people, and places that shape the regional economy. They focus on healthcare, agriculture, digitalisation, energy, and entrepreneurship. Rauw Vermogen brings attention to what is often overlooked: a region full of initiative, dedication, and change.
Rauw Vermogen can now be visited by appointment at the Noorderlicht gallery. The exhibition, which opened last autumn, originally coincided with World Press Photo’s anniversary exhibition What Have We Done? in the Niemeyer. While World Press Photo primarily looks back, Rauw Vermogen focuses on what lies ahead. The photographers' work reflects Northern curiosity and thus fits seamlessly with a new generation that is searching for meaning, space and connection. The exhibition is an initiative of Noorderlicht in collaboration with Groningen Merkpartners. With this exhibition, the initiators invite everyone inside and outside the province to come and see and participate.
