Blind Looking for a Mirror / Introspections / Neverending Stories
In his conceptual work, Boris Eldagsen explores the subconscious, particularly through the discipline he calls ‘promptography’: directing AI image generators using text descriptions. With Introspections, Eldagsen aims to stimulate the viewer’s psyche towards meditation: what feelings, memories, or thoughts does the image evoke? This is also true for Neverending Stories, surreal video loops that seem to emerge from early black-and-white films, disorienting like a half-remembered nightmare.

Blind Looking for a Mirror portrays AI as a narcissistic mirror, fed by a chaotic mix of the entire human subconscious. When we ultimately see our equal in the reflection, fear prevails.
Last year, he made global headlines by winning a Sony World Photo Award with an AI-generated portrait and then refusing it.
