PhotoSalon: meet and drinks Thinking Hands
Are you a photographer or lens-based artist based in the Northern Netherlands looking to connect with fellow creatives?
Then join us for PhotoSalon on Saturday, October 31, at THEA in Niemeyer (Paterswoldseweg 43). PhotoSalon is the place for visual artists and photographers from the north to come together. Share ideas, learn from one another, and leave feeling inspired (and perhaps even with a new collaboration in the works).
This edition focuses on the exhibition Thinking Hands. Technology is taking over more and more of what we do. Convenient, sure, but what are we losing along the way? Thinking Hands explores the knowledge held within our bodies. Knowledge we gain through making, touching, and feeling. Knowledge that can't simply be translated into data or stored in a computer. So, what does your body know that your mind doesn't?
During this PhotoSalon, you'll get an exclusive guided tour of Thinking Hands with Noorderlicht director and co-curator Roosje Klap. Groningen-based photographer Sebastiaan Rodenhuis, whom you might already know from the local scene, will talk about his work. Curator Marijn Bril will share insights into her curatorial practice and introduce the open call for the Noorderlicht Biennale PLAY in September 2027. Afterwards, it's your turn to get involved: join the Collage Club, get feedback on your portfolio, or simply connect with others over drinks.
