NIR
In NIR, Martine Stig explores her surroundings using infrared photography.

She works with a special camera that captures a wider light spectrum than the human eye can see. By using different filters, she records light that is invisible to people, but visible to animals like bats and bees, or to digital devices. Because the camera's usual color settings don’t work in this kind of light, the images look strange or unfamiliar. Familiar shapes may appear in different colors or disappear altogether. Stig shows how our way of seeing depends not only on our senses, but also on technology. NIR helps us feel how machines and animals view the world differently, and how technology can help us look beyond our own limits.
