Algues maudites
In Algues maudites, Alice Pallot explores how human activities impact the environment by transforming scientific research into visual art.

The series focuses on the toxic algae spreading along Brittany’s coast, a phenomenon fueled by climate change and waste from industrial farming. Pallot immerses her photographic prints in baths of toxic algae, making invisible pollution physically visible on the images’ surfaces. She also uses visual pollution—washed-up algae, plastic bottles—as photographic filters. Her work captures frozen, dead landscapes, making the fragility of ecosystems palpable. By collaborating with institutions like CNRS and the European Space Agency, she bridges nature and technology. Her project fits within Machine Entanglements’ focus on technology and nature, confronting us with the unpredictable future of Earth's habitability.
