From Us, For Tomorrow
Fraeylemaborg Slochteren
Five residents from Slochteren, Groningen, select five photographers to capture their stories.
In the From Us, For Tomorrow exhibition, residents of Slochteren and the surrounding area present a picture of their living area that is in line with their own experiences and their view of the future. The residents determined what had to be portrayed, the photographers from Noorderlicht determined how and in what form. Personal stories and at the same time they touch on an important question: how can Groningen change and still remain itself?
From Us, for Tomorrow is the sequel to The Photo Assignment Middelstum and will be the final piece of our special four-year collaboration with BPD Culture Fund: Renewed Energy. The project highlights Groningen and the problems regarding the earthquakes in this region. The project centers on Groningen and its earthquake issues through the eyes of five northern visual makers, giving shape to both hope and memory.
