Open Student Call
We are excited to announce the Open Student Call for the 2023 Noorderlicht International Photo Festival. This year’s theme is “REGENERATE,” which focuses on finding innovative ways to tackle the global challenges we face as a society. We believe that the voices of a new generation are essential in shaping the future, and we’re calling on you to share your vision. In this democratic call for submissions, all entries will be exhibited, regardless of the level of experience or background of the artist.
“REGENERATE” is an opportunity for artists to explore the transformations that are needed in our modern societies. We want you to share your hopes and vision for the future and your ideas about the steps we can take to get there. To be regenerated means to be restored, to redefine relationships with our identity, nature, and society. These are the three sub-themes that we will present in the festival.
THE OPEN CALL
Noorderlicht is inviting art and photography students from around the world to share their perspectives on the theme of “REGENERATE.” We mentioned our sub-themes: Regenerate Life, Ourselves, and Society. But we encourage you to interpret the theme in your own unique way.
We ask you to capture in one image your view on “REGENERATE.” We welcome lens-based art, in both pure photography and digital interpretations.
