Exhibition 'Adversity' in Prison Museum Veenhuizen

5 Jun 2021

In this multimedia exhibition, documentary photographer Dirk-Jan Visser, Noorderlicht and the museum use personal stories to show how complicated the system of poverty reduction is.

In an indoor and outdoor location in the museum, photography, video and objects record the stories of four people who live or have lived in poverty. They explain that poverty is not just a lack of money. It also means having no choice, not being able to participate in society or to afford healthy food and having less and less control over your life. But ‘Adversity’ also tells a story of strength and resilience.⁣ Read about the exhibition.

Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Book in advance: https://bit.ly/3ilcTVc⁣
