Wayne Liu

Wayne Liu (b. Taiwan, 1979) is largely self-taught. He learned his trade in a squatter community in New York, and later did internships at the International Centre for Photography and Magnum. In the summer of 2008 he contributed to the Noorderlicht exhibition China Goes. Liu prefers to shoot on cheap film and prints on whatever paper is at hand. ‘The perfect print,’ he says, ‘is not my thing.’ He lives in New York.
