About Peeter Linnap
Peeter Linnap (1960) is an Estonian visual culture theorist, image historian and artist. He graduated from Tallinn Pedagogical University Faculty of Culture in 1983, defended his master’s degree in art history at the Estonian Academy of Arts in 2001, and a doctorate in semiotics and cultural studies at the University of Tartu in 2006.
From 1994 to 1998, he worked as an associate professor at the Estonian Academy of Arts, since 2001 he has been the head of the photography department and a professor at the Academy of Arts in Pallas. From 2001 to 2005, he was also a lecturer in the history of photography at Tallinn University, since 2007 also a lecturer in the history of photography at the Institute of Baltic Film, Media, Arts and Communication of Tallinn University.
