Mizuho Nishioka
Mizuho Nishioka (1976, JP) is a Japanese-New Zealand artist and researcher whose practice merges photography, software design, and systems thinking.

About Mizuho Nishioka
Discarding conventional image-making methods, she collaborates with computer vision and algorithmic structures to explore how visual agency is reshaped in the digital age. Her work has been exhibited internationally at venues including the European Cultural Centre’s Venice Biennale, Ars Electronica, and the Fiebre Photobook Festival. In 2016, she became the first person in New Zealand to earn a PhD in photography, and she currently teaches at Massey University, Wellington.
