Els Zweerink

Documentary and portrait photographer Els Zweerink (1971) lives in Amsterdam. In 1995 she completed the Design Academy in Eindhoven. In 2011, at the age of thirty-nine, she graduated cum laude from the Fotoacademie Amsterdam with her project ‘Finding Guillermo’: a personal story about the search for her Foster Parents Plan brother from El Salvador. The series has been published in several magazines and was shown during the Noorderlicht Photography Festival and Naarden Photo Festival. Since 2011 she works as a freelancer and she is a regular photographer for de Volkskrant and Volkskrant Magazine.
