Equilíbrio Instável

In Equilíbrio Instável, Sylvia Sánchez presents fragile stacks of everyday objects supporting mobile phones.

They playfully refer to the Latin American gambiarra way of thinking, where people invent clever solutions with minimal means. In the empty spaces of the photographs, human figures appear only as blurred reflections on screens, silent witnesses to our digital existence. The makeshift “totems” show how people try to keep their screens visible while cooking, cleaning, or falling asleep. With a playful wink, Sánchez reveals how precarious the relationship between humans and machines is.
