Waiting for Cows
Waiting for Cows explores the growing entanglement of humans, animals, and technology.

Set on a Dutch dairy farm, the work follows three cows—Aergentina 4, Margot 104, and Robina 117—equipped with neck-worn sensors called wearables. These devices collect data that directly influences the pacing and scenes of the film. The cows themselves shape the narrative. The piece reveals how dairy farming is transformed by agritech—technology used in agriculture—such as milking robots and data-driven tools that track animal performance through KPIs (key performance indicators). Waiting for Cows is presented as a cinematic meditation that raises questions about care, control, and kinship in a world where animals and machines are deeply interconnected. It offers a rare, intimate view into the routines of today’s automated farm life.
