Ioana Cîrlig (1987, RO) is a Romanian visual artist whose practice spans photography, video, and sound, moving between documentary and speculative approaches.

About Ioana Cîrlig
Formerly a news photographer, she now focuses on ecological mythologies, endangered landscapes, and the entangled futures of plants and people. Her recent project The New Empire maps the intersection of biodiversity, biotechnology, and waste. Cîrlig has exhibited at the Venice Biennale, Breda Photo Festival, Fisheye Gallery Paris, and RAM Bucharest. She co-founded the artist collective FOC!, dedicated to reimagining environmental narratives.
