Lauren Hillebrandt – Objectives [photography] | Wouter van Riessen and Harry Markusse [paintings]
What’s shown in the work of the three artists in this exhibition is not as straightforward as appears at first glance. Although the photographs of Lauren Hillebrandt look like collages or digital renderings, they are in fact compositions made of printed photographs, plant material and pieces of paper. Harry Markusse’s latest paintings appear to be completely abstract yet could also be paintings of ribbons. Wouter van Riessen’s floral still lifes seem unambiguous, but in effect they are also compositions of abstract forms. An exhibition that allows the viewer to search for reality.
