POPVIEW / LEX VAN ROSSEN AWARD 2009

The nominees for the Lex van Rossen Award 2009 are:

Their work will be exhibited in the Noorderlicht Photogallery (15 January through 22 February 2009). From their midst the winner will be chosen by a professional jury consisting of: Frans Vreeke (director Noorderslag), Jill Furmanovsky (music photographer/ director Rockarchive), Ton Broekhuis (director Noorderlicht / photographer), Jan Vollaard (journalist NRC Handelsblad) and Anja Hiddinga (Stichting Collexxx).

Popview and the Lex van Rossen Award is an annual event in memory of Lex van Rossen, the Dutch music photographer who passed away in 2007. The Lex van Rossen Award consists of a prize of ¤ 2,500 and an exhibition, Popview.

The Lex van Rossen Award is a prize of 2,500 euros for talented young European music photographers. The award will be handed out during the Noorderslag weekend (15 through 17 January 2009) during the Eurosonic seminar in the Oosterpoort in Groningen. More info on www.popview.eu.

The European character of the Award is emphasized with the support of Rock Archive, the international collective for music photographers. Because of this partnership, the Popview-exhibition will also be held in London after the Dutch exposition in the Noorderlicht Photogallery.
