Joy Gregory shows twenty still-lifes of cosmetic attributes, such as a corset, a depilatory or stockings, which, according to Western beauty ideals should be used to embellish the female body. This series condemns the imposed standards of the ideal image. The photographs are printed in caleotype, an old technical process that gives photographs a nostalgic and intimate atmosphere.
